What is this ?
A FREE online memorial for your beloved commercial fisherman or fisherwoman, whether they have "crossed the bar" or they are still with you. This includes ancillary personnel connected to the commercial fishing industry who supported it, nurtured it, developed it, and improved it, such as spouses, merchants, suppliers, boat builders, equipment manufacturers, and researchers/biologists/boat crews.
The commercial fishing industry may be waning, and to some forgotten or out-of-sight and out-of-mind, but our memories and the people who built it don't have to be ...... please help preserve this National Treasure !
How does it work ?
You can use the Submission Form to submit the essential information required to establish your free online memorial. Your Tribute will get its own web page, listed under the Home Port State. The Basic Listing consists of the information requested on the Submission Form, plus a picture of the person and a picture of their favorite boat, at a minimum. Also, see the Terms of Use agreement.
How much does it cost ?
To establish your memorial is a labor of love for both of us, and will cost you nothing for a basic listing. However, there are fixed costs to maintaining this web site, and you may donate any amount that you are comfortable with, or subscribe (includes extra services, like changes, additions, subtractions, and similar). If you would like to make frequent changes or add more information, such as pictures, slide presentations, or videos, you may purchase more space and time. This memorial is meant to be affordable to anyone and everyone.
If your favorite fisherman is anything like my Daddy and his brothers, there is a treasure-trove of pictures, boats, favorite catches, stories, and family memories, as well as a life well lived, to share with current and future generations.
How long will my Tribute stay online ?
Your Basic Tribute will be created for free and hosted on CommFishUSA.net for at least six (6) months. After that, you will be asked to make a Donation or Subscribe to receive "Perpetual Care".
