Biographical Information:

Elmo Murray Fulcher, Jr. “Rooster”, 73, of 341 Muddy Creek Road, Hertford, NC, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  Born in Carteret County, NC, he was the son of the late Elmo Fulcher, Sr. and Lillian Jackson Fulcher and was the husband of Vicki Tillett Fulcher of the home. 
 In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Keith Fulcher of Merritt, NC; a daughter, Michelle Fulcher of Greenville, NC; five grandchildren; a brother, Laurie Fulcher of Atlantic, NC; and a sister, Ellen Cloud of Carteret County, NC.
Mr. Fulcher was a commercial fisherman and seafood dealer for most of his life. He retired in 2002 and moved to Hertford from Ocracoke in 2003. He served on several Marine Fishery Committees, always working to help the commercial fisherman whenever he could. After making his home in Hertford he continued his carving of duck and geese decoys, which he loved.
