Biographical Information:

David Kaye Bogan - PORT ROYAL, SC - Captain David Bogan, age 71 of Port Royal, SC, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, surrounded by family in the same house he was born in on February 20, 1944 in Port Royal. The son of the late Kathryn Eason and Clement Bogan. Survived by his sisters, Henrianne Bogan, Merge Parsons, and Kathy Ballard along with his children, Kimberly Bogan, David E. Bogan, Matthew Bogan, and Kady Graham. He was a graduate of Beaufort High School. He joined the Air Force and served mostly in Southeast Asia. When he returned he went into the seafood industry and remained for most of his life. For the last 17 years he was a Captain in the Haig Point Ferry Boat System. He was a member of many organizations and clubs, serving various positions such as Vice-president, Commander, and Board member. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 70 where he was a Charter Member, Masonic Lodge 242, SC Shrimper's Association, Beaufort and Savannah Shag Club. He was involved in the Town of Port Royal Government for over 13 years. He served from mayor pro tem to council, He was part of the Bicentennial celebration including placement of the time capsule. He was an asset to the Town of Port Royal and a true pillar of the town even when not serving in government. Captain Bogan was a hardworking, creative, intelligent, talented man who was loved by all he knew. He is truely missed by family and friends.
